Welcome to Tigua’s Sunrise, a single story lakefront home on Lewis Smith Lake overlooking a peaceful deep water cove in one of the most serene areas of the lake. Wake to golden sunrises shimmering across calm water and settle into a vacation centered on family time, steady fishing, and relaxed lake living.

Tigua is our newest pooch, rescued from the streets of Antigua when she was just 4 weeks old. Like the rising sun, she inspires us with her energy, hope and optimism each new day and the property aims to inject you with this attitude.

We accept all major credit cards for reservations at our Smith Lake vacation rentals. Guests must be 25 years of age or older to book.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you’ll receive detailed check-in instructions via email 4 days before arrival. This includes a digital Guest Guidebook with:

We combine the comfort of luxury lakefront living with the convenience of pet-friendly policies and direct booking perks. Every property is designed for relaxation, with unique touches like complimentary extras, detailed guidebooks, and owner-hosted hospitality you won’t find with large rental companies.

Full payment, including cleaning and pet fees (if applicable), is due at the time of booking. Please include all pets in your reservation.

If you rent the optional pontoon boat, a $1500 security deposit will be held on your credit card to cover incidental costs, damages, lost items, or cancellations related to the boat rental.

Pontoon boat reservations must be made at least 48 hours before your property booking. Reservations made within 48 hours may incur a boat preparation fee of up to $100. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit $100 of the security deposit unless due to inclement weather, in which case the deposit may be applied to a future date. Rental fees will be prorated if weather shortens your rental period.

Guests are encouraged to photograph any pre-existing damages and notify the owner before using the boat.

Yes. Alabama law requires operators to have a Boater Certificate from an approved safety course, such as:

A copy of your certificate must be provided before boat use.

Safety rules: Everyone must wear a properly fitted life vest, including pets (which we recommend bringing). The operator must attach the Emergency Cut Off Switch lanyard to their vest while driving. Noncompliance may result in fines by Marine Patrol.

Yes. Though the pontoon boat is exclusively for current guests, it should be reserved at least 48 hours prior to arrival so the maintenance crew can prepare it. Late reservations may incur a $100 prep fee. You can use the boat on any of the days that you are staying, as long as you do not exceed the number of days that you have rented the boat.

Yes, operators must be at least 25 years old and have a valid boater certificate on hand during operation.

No. Pets are not allowed on the pontoon boat to prevent damage and subsequent loss of deposit money.

Yes, there is an open boat slip under the dock roof and ample perimeter space for boats. Typically, one jet ski port is also available.

Yes. There are two entrances leading to circular drives in front of the property, plus two parking areas near the house.

The main entrance features a wood fence with Tigua’s Sunrise white sign. If missed, the next driveway (left after the black mailbox marked 161 CR 902) is an alternate entrance.

There is room for several vehicles including travel trailers or boats. For trailers over 45 feet total length, parking and turning may be challenging—please plan accordingly.

The nightly rate covers up to 8 overnight adult guests (18 years or older). Up to 4 additionaldaily guests or children are allowed. No more than 12 guests may be on the property at any time.

The property sits along winding country roads, some paved but mostly dirt/gravel, but well-maintained, giving it a private and secluded feel — but not so remote that you’ll feel cut off. You’ll enjoy the serenity of the lake and forest while still being within an easy drive of local conveniences.

The best way to get to and from Tigua’s Sunrise is by car. Public transportation, rideshare, and taxi options are scarce in this rural area, and the winding tree-lined roads make driving a car far more practical than biking. A short drive will connect you to nearby stores, restaurants, and marinas for all your essentials and lake-day needs.

  • Be kind to the septic system.
  • No illegal substances or activities are allowed on the premises.
  • The daily rate covers up to 8 overnight adult guests (18 years or older). Up to 4 additional daily guests or children are allowed. No more than 12 guests may be on this property at any time.
  • If you bring your pet(s), they are welcome inside the house and anywhere on the property but please clean up after them. There’s a blue 5-gallon bucket with lid on the porch to dispose of pet waste. Rolls of plastic bags are also provided to pick up pet waste to deposit into this bucket. There is a clear plastic bin with towels (next to the blue bucket) to clean/dry your pet if necessary so please do not use the white towels or any other interior towel to clean your pets. When you leave, seal the blue bucket liner bag and deposit it into the green curb-side bin. Place any used towels into one of the laundry hampers.
  • There is a pet fee of $50.00 per pet per week (7 nights), which covers additional cleaning (4 pets is the maximum allowed). If your pet causes damage to the home/property/furniture you may be charged up to $1000.00 for cleaning/repairs/replacement of damaged items.
  • All garbage must be bagged as the sanitation department will not empty bins with loose garbage.
  • Smoking is not allowed inside the home, but smoking is allowed on the porch and other outside areas of the property. Please use the smoking disposal canisters provided for all discarded smoking materials.
  • Checkout is strictly 10:00am. Late checkouts will be charged $50.00 per hour including any portion of an hour. Minimum late checkout fee is $50.00

The spacious primary suite features a king bed, Roku TV, dedicated workspace, dressers, nightstands, and large shuttered windows that fill the room with natural light. The en suite bath includes a walk in shower, sunken tub, and a generous walk in closet.

The main living room is designed for gathering, with a large reclining sectional, a comfortable reclining chair, and a 68 inch Roku TV. Books and games for all ages are stocked for evenings indoors. All TVs include Roku with high speed 1 GB internet and access to more than 75 live channels, with the ability to log into your personal streaming accounts for seamless entertainment.

Two additional bedrooms provide flexibility for families. One guest room offers a queen bed, Roku TV, dresser, and walk in closet. The bunk room includes two bunk beds, storage chests, bean bag chairs, and its own walk in closet, making it an ideal space for kids. A centrally located guest bath features a shower and tub combination, vanity with storage, and a nearby linen closet.

The well stocked kitchen offers functional counter space, a center island with seating, full size appliances, and a dedicated coffee station. The adjacent dining table seats six comfortably. A separate laundry room includes a large capacity washer and dryer with supplies provided for your convenience.
